Felting during half term.

This half term holiday I have been busy felting in my caravan. I decided to focus on some small scale projects and what developed was a series of broaches. My inspiration came from the garden.

Here are the instructions to make a broach:

Broach 1
You will need a selection of coloured roving and woollen yarn. I use a crumpet ring as a mould for the broach, biscuit cutters are also good to use.
Broach 2
Fill the mould with the base roving and needle felt.
Broach 3
Keep turning and felting on the front and back.
Start adding coloured roving and needle felt

Once your felting is secure you can remove the mould and continue to felt.

Add woollen yarn and felt in circular shapes.

Continue until you have your desired effect. You could add beads etc. remember to add a clip on the reverse. Happy felting.
